COP 24 (the 24th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change/UNFCCC) will take place Katowice, Poland. COP is one of an ongoing series of ‘Rio Conventions’, established in 1992.
The aim of the UNFCCC is to prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system. The Polish presidency of the UNFCCC will be marked by a focus on technology, man and nature. The presidency will call for the development of green industries and solutions, the ‘solidarity-and-just’ transition of industrial nations and the achievement of carbon neutrality through forests, land and water management.
