G20 Leaders' Summit
The G20, a group of countries conformed by 19 leading economies and the EU, will assemble in Buenos Aires to discuss today’s pressing challenges and how policy should respond to them. This year’s invited guests are Spain, a permanent guest, Jamaica, Rwanda, Singapore and Senegal.
Under the theme 'Building consensus for fair and sustainable development’, the summit will concentrate on a people-centred vision of globalisation and its negative effects on global inequality levels. The meeting has three priorities (‘the future of work’, ‘infrastructure for development’ and ‘a sustainable food future’) which will all be considered from a gendered perspective.
