The International Symposium on Understanding the Double Burden of Malnutrition for Effective Interventions will bring together a wide range of stakeholders including UN organisations, policymakers, researchers, health professionals, NGOs and civil society in Vienna, Austria.
The symposium seeks to strengthen our understanding of the double burden of malnutrition, defined as the coexistence of undernutrition along with overweight, obesity or diet-related noncommunicable diseases.

As part of this symposium, Global Nutrition Report will host a session named The 2018 Global Nutrition Report: Shining a Light to spur Action on Nutrition.
The event will touch on the 2018 Global Nutrition Report’s latest findings, and will include a short presentation from Global Nutrition Report co-chair Jessica Fanzo. There will also be a panel discussion focusing on the significance of persisting burdens at the individual and country level.
