Global

World Food Day

A steady increase in hunger since 2014, together with rising obesity, clearly indicates the need to accelerate and scale up actions to strengthen food systems and protect people's livelihoods. Under the theme “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together”, we will show our appreciation for #FoodHeroes around the world in partnership with the Youth Leaders for Nutrition (YL4N).

Watch this space for a blog and video on the role of youth in transforming food systems around the world. Don’t miss their World Food Day webinar on young people’s contributions to “building back better” from COVID-19 for progress towards the global nutrition targets.

Join the discussion moderated by Bormey Chhun, YL4N (Cambodia), with the speakers:

  • Gerda Verburg, UN Assistant-Secretary General and SUN Movement Coordinator
  • Inger Ashing, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Save the Children International
  • Maxwell Mumba , YL4N (Zambia)
