Breaking the Intergenerational Cycle of Stunting in Central Asia

Description

By 2029, Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), in collaboration with Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), will address stunting in 447 remote communities across Afghan Badakhshan (Afghanistan), Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral (GBC) (Pakistan) and Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO) (Tajikistan), focusing on the 1,000-day window, child growth monitoring and maternal preconception nutrition. AKF will also support government efforts to scale proven nutrition interventions through health system strengthening, essential inputs and gender-responsive programming.
