Commitment

Number of smallholder farmers (women and men) participating in training processes on sustainable organic food production

Civil society organisation / El Salvador

January 2022 — December 2030

Description

The action plan is based on three strategic pillars: 1) development of training courses on sustainable organic food production with smallholder producers, (2) implementation of communication campaigns, and (3) creation and strengthening of networks with other actors linked to sustainable food production, including national government authorities.

The following activities correspond to these strategic pillars:

• Development of an educational plan aimed at smallholder producers (men and women) with agricultural, nutritional and health content.

• Motivation of farmers to carry out actions for water harvesting in their plots, such as living barriers, irrigation ditches and infiltration holes.

• Design and implementation of awareness and communication campaigns on healthy eating, avoiding the use of pesticides and the importance of home plots.
