Description
CARE believes that water and sanitation services at the domestic and institutional levels, as well as access to hygiene knowledge and products, underpin dignity, health and well-being for all; however, they are particularly important for women, girls and marginalised groups, and during humanitarian emergencies. We will ensure sustainable services through strategies that include strengthening water, sanitation and hygiene governance; monitoring policies at national, district and community levels; strengthening capacities of service providers, including small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs, to deliver services; facilitating water, sanitation and hygiene demand; addressing social and gender norms that influence water, sanitation and hygiene behaviours, including menstrual hygiene management; and increasing the leadership of women, girls and the most marginalised in water, sanitation and hygiene decision-making.

Improving nutrition approaches
Description
Improving nutrition must happen through local structures or collectives, such as care or savings groups, and integrated approaches. This commitment will focus on both nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive approaches. By focusing on these two approaches, we will directly affect nutrition for women and children, support dietary diversity and promote positive nutrition practices. CARE also focuses on male engagement and sectoral interventions such as homestead food production; improved water, sanitation and hygiene access; and agriculture and natural resource management practices and models that prioritise nutrition outcomes. Building on successes, we will build stronger service delivery and coordination systems across stakeholder platforms that improve access to and delivery of quality health, agriculture, water, climate and education services for improved nutrition.
