Strengthen research and data systems for evidence-based policies
Description
The Government of Lao PDR commits to strengthening research and data systems for evidence-based nutrition policies. This overarching commitment comprises three integrated components:
1. Establish (by end 2026): A nutrition budget tagging and resource tracking system under the leadership of the Ministry of Finance, National Nutrition Committee, and MPI/DRI to ensure transparency and accountability.
2. Conduct (2025-2030): Targeted nutrition research to address knowledge gaps, with findings directly informing policy development and program improvements.
3. Publish (2026-2030): Annual nutrition reports every December, consolidating budget data, research findings, and progress assessments.
The primary commitment is to utilize these integrated systems to produce evidence-based nutrition policy documents and program improvements annually, ensuring data-driven decision-making in nutrition interventions across all sectors
