At least 80,000 smallholder households accessing, and 20 percent using, at least five improved crop varieties; and adopting at least six good agricultural practices, with at least a 20 percent increase in the women's empowerment in agriculture index and a 30 percent increase in household dietary diversity scores. https://www.cgiar.org/initiative/22-market-driven-resilient-and-nutritious-agrifood-systems-in-the-humid-zones-of-west-and-central-africa/
Description
With partners, CGIAR will work with value chain actors to improve production of quality seed and crops, post-harvest handling and consumption practices that support food and nutrition security; promote increased diversity of household production systems; ensure stakeholders have access to climate information and personalised agronomic practices; and improve women and youth empowerment to ensure increased control of resources by women and other marginalised groups, among other strategies.

Title
CGIAR work to improve global nutrition
Description
As the world’s largest public-sector research partnership, CGIAR has worked tirelessly with its extensive network of partners for 50 years to serve the needs of more than 500 million smallholder farmers who are responsible for feeding billions of people in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Now, building on this extensive record of research and innovation, CGIAR commits to contributing to collective global targets for nutrition, health and food security by:
1. Ending hunger for all and enabling affordable healthy diets for the 3 billion people who do not currently have access to safe and nutritious food.
2. Reducing cases of foodborne illness (600 million annually) and zoonotic disease (1 billion annually) by one-third.
To meet these goals, CGIAR announces the launch of a new portfolio of 32 research initiatives, supported by financial commitments of more than US$1 billion from a steadily growing global coalition.
