Description

From 2025 to 2029, the El Salvador government commits to implement public policies, strategies and national programmes to improve the food security and the nutritional condition of the population, with a particular emphasis on early childhood, childhood and adolescence, as well as vulnerable groups, prioritising the following:

• National Nutrition Strategy.

• Actions derived from the Love Converted into Food Law, for the Promotion, Protection and Support of Breastfeeding.

• National Prenatal Education Programme.

• Food Programme for children from 5 to 12 years of age, adolescents and young people.

• Food and Nutrition Education, revaluing ancestral food culture.

• Strategy for the prevention of overweight and obesity in early childhood, childhood and adolescence.

• Agromarkets programme.

• Programme for the delivery of seeds to small producers.

• Initiatives for the generation of employment and improvement of family income, with an emphasis on women and young people.

• Ruralisation Programme for Sustainable Development.

• Implementation of the National Agricultural Policy.

• Application of the regulation of breast milk substitutes and complementary foods.
