Commitment

Greater than or equal to 95% of the company global products portfolio will provide interpretative (science-based and consumers-friendly) nutrition information such as Nutri-Score, Health Star Rating or other, on packs and/or in digital format (scope: dairy, plant-based, aquadrinks volume weighted)

Private sector food business / France

December 2021 — November 2025

Description

There will be implementation of on-pack/online interpretative nutritional information wherever there is no regulatory barrier. Nutritional labelling systems can be presented on the food packages or via online platforms (websites, apps, etc.) with the aim of supporting consumers to make healthier food choices by delivering simplified nutritional information. These will be summary indicator systems, such as the Nutri-Score or HSR system; nutrient-specific systems, like traffic lights format, warning labels or similar; or endorsement logos that are based on nutritional criteria. Each country may define its own preferences and criteria regarding on-pack/online placement, as well as choice of interpretative labelling system. Work is to be done in collaboration with regulatory, public affairs, research and development and marketing and sales teams, etc.

The HSR system is a nutrient profiling system that determines how healthy a product is. Products are rated from 0.5 stars (least healthy) to 5.0 stars (most healthy). According to this system, any product that scores 3.5 or above can be confidently promoted as a healthy choice (source: health-star-rating-system.pdf [nsw.gov.au]).
