Title

National Plan of Action for Nutrition

Description

Currently, Thailand focuses on prioritising and solving malnutrition issues for all age groups, including undernutrition, overweight, and obesity. Therefore, Thailand formulated the National Plan of Action for Nutrition in 2019, with the first phase lasting 5 years and ending in 2023. The Department of Health launched the five-year National Nutrition Action Plan (2023–2027) mainly in response to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), global nutrition targets and the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Global Action Plan. It is also necessary to set this issue as a global agenda, where all partners must work together to protect, safeguard, and promote the health of all age groups, especially children and vulnerable groups. The government of Thailand is committed to reducing the prevalence of stunting, wasting and overweight in children under 5 years of age to 8%, 5% and 7% respectively.
