Description

The government of Pakistan, through its Ehsaas Program and Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, commits to addressing stunting and other forms of malnutrition through the constitution of the PNNCC, the highest coordinating body for multisectoral coordination and harmonisation of nutrition programming at the federal level, in collaboration with relevant ministries and departments. The prime minister of Pakistan is the chair of the PNNCC, with the special assistant to the prime minister on poverty alleviation and social safety as its vice chair. The other members include eight cabinet ministers, six chief secretaries and experts. The PNNCC synergises the work of relevant stakeholders through policy directions, coordination and the highest-level political ownership. It meets on annual basis to review the progress made by all stakeholders.
