Approve the draft Breastfeeding Law Reform Bill in line with the international code of marketing of breast-milk substitutes
Description
The draft bill for the reform of the current breastfeeding law will be put forward for approval by the National Congress of the Republic. The law will contain clauses relating to compliance with the international code of marketing of breast-milk substitutes. A technical team led by CONALMA (Comisión Nacional de Lactancia Materna - National Breastfeeding Commission) will be set up. This committee will be made up of a variety of government bodies, with the support of the education sector, grass-roots associations, international cooperation and United Nations agencies. This technical committee will provide support for the delegated Commission within the National Congress of the Republic (Health Commission or the Parliamentary Body Against Hunger) throughout the process. The process will run from formulation of the draft law right up to its approval and publication in the Official Gazette.

Description
The objective of the Nutrition Action Plan, unveiled as part of the National Food and Nutrition Security Policy and Strategy-PyENSAN 2030, is to end all forms of malnutrition and address lifelong nutritional needs. The plan has a particular focus on undernourishment, chronic malnutrition, growth retardation, wasting, underweight and overweight children under the age of 5, and anaemia in women and children, among other micronutrient deficiencies, as well as halting the upward trend of excessive weight and obesity and reducing the burden of diet-related non-communicable diseases across all age groups.
