A multisectoral national plan 2022–2026, currently being finalised, comprises specific and sensitive interventions in key sectors with an accountability framework that will allow these interventions to be scaled up in a synergy of politics and action and community convergence.

Description

While reiterating its commitment to eliminate malnutrition in all its forms by 2030, Côte d’Ivoire would like for 2025 to undertake the following six actions:

1. Maintain the national financial contribution of 15% of the budget of the National Multisectoral Nutrition Plan 2022–2026 and focus on data management.

2. Create an innovative financing mechanism involving the private sector by 2023.

3. Reach the targets of the World Health Assembly and increase them to at least 5%, 18% and 72% respectively for acute malnutrition, chronic malnutrition and exclusive breastfeeding by 2025.

4. Raise, to at least 80%, the rate of health establishments offering nutrition services within the framework of universal health coverage by 2025.

5. Develop a contingency plan for nutritional and food resilience by 2023.

6. Achieve the process led by the Côte d’Ivoire to make 2022 a year of the AU dedicated to nutrition and food systems by February 2022.
