Improve the consumption of local iodised salt
Description
By 2028, the Benin government, with the support of partners, is committed to increasing the use rate of iodised salt by households to at least 90% by 2028. In particular, it will support local production and fortification of iodised salt; strengthen salt quality controls and update regulatory procedures; develop a distribution infrastructure; and implement awareness campaigns to promote the use of adequately iodised salt.
