Increasing access to drinking water in canteen schools
Description
By 2028, the Benin government, with the support of partners, is committed to improving the rate of access to drinking water in schools with canteens from 51% in 2024 to 75% in 2028 by facilitating the connection of schools or by building new drinking water points.
This commitment is ambitious since the government plans to reach 100% of schools with canteens in rural areas. An action plan will be developed by the Beninese National Agency for Drinking Water Supply in Rural Areas (ANAEP-MR) and then implemented in order to achieve the target in 2018. Progress will be reported annually and presented in the annual activity report of the NASIP.
