Description
Five hundred community health workers will be capacitated and deployed for targeted outreach programmes in the severely affected regions of Omaheke, Ohangwena, Kunene, Kavango West and Omusati. Progress will be assessed using the District Health Information System and during the Second Harambee Prosperity Plan Programme Delivery Unit monthly meetings.

Description
The Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services commits to intensify the identification of malnourished children, pregnant and lactating women, and adults for malnutrition treatment and nutrition education in the five years from 1 January 2022 through 31 December 2025. This will be achieved through the deployment of 500 community health workers for targeted outreach programmes in the severely affected regions of Omaheke, Ohangwena, Kunene, Kavango West and Omusati. Progress will be assessed using the District Health Information System and during the Second Harambee Prosperity Plan Programme Delivery Unit monthly meetings. The government has secured N$161 million (approximately US$11 million) annually to cover the associated costs.
