The Namibian Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare commits to revise and convert food banks, special feeding for marginalised communities and marginalised grants into a monthly cash transfer as a first step to phasing in a conditional basic income grant over five years (from 1 January 2022 through 31 December 2025).

The Namibian Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare commits to revise and convert food banks, special feeding for marginalised communities and marginalised grants into a monthly cash transfer as a first step to phasing in a conditional basic income grant over five years (from 1 January 2022 through 31 December 2025). Progress will be assessed during the Second Harambee Prosperity Plan Programme Delivery Unit monthly meetings. The government has secured N$424,095.00 annually to cover the associated costs.
