The Namibian Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, together with stakeholders, commits to increase domestic food production by promoting home gardens, increasing land and water access, improving early warning systems and access to affordable water and increasing the effectiveness/reach/nutrition-related knowledge of agricultural extension workers, as well as by enhancing the processing, marketing and consumption of food to improve access to nutritious and safe food for the populace of Namibia at all times.

Description
The Namibian Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform commits to increase domestic food production (by promoting home gardens, increasing land and water access, improving early warning systems/access to affordable water, increasing the effectiveness/reach/nutritional-related knowledge of agricultural extension workers) from 30% to 60% and to enhance the processing, marketing and consumption of food to improve access to nutritious and safe food for the populace of Namibia at all times. This programme will be implemented over five years (April 2021–March 2026). Progress will be assessed during the Second Harambee Prosperity Plan Programme Delivery Unit monthly meetings. To cover the associated costs, the government and the African Development Bank have secured N$1 361 640 700.00.
