Description

The Namibian Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, together with the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development and the Development Workshop Namibia, commits to launch community-led total sanitation (CLTS) and raise awareness on water, sanitation and hygiene to increase levels of hygiene through the community-based construction of 5,000 latrines at the household level in urban and peri-urban areas annually, ie, 25,000 latrines over a period of five years (2021–2025).

Description

The Namibian Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform commits to launch CLTS and raise awareness on water, sanitation and hygiene to increase hygiene through the community-based construction of latrines at the household level in urban and peri-urban areas in 5000 villages annually over five years (2021–2025). Progress will be assessed during the Second Harambee Prosperity Plan Programme Delivery Unit monthly meetings. The government has secured N$21 113 285.00 to cover the associated costs.
