Support improved nutrition through investments in food loss reduction in Africa
Description
The Green Climate Fund (GCF) has recently approved its first dedicated programme focused on reducing food losses and improving the post-harvest quality of staple crops in seven African countries (Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia). The US$105 million RE-GAIN Scaling solutions for food loss in Africa programme - in partnership with AGRA - will focus on key staples crops (one cereal and one legume) in each participating country and promote the wide scale adoption of post-harvest solutions to build climate resilience and improve food and nutrition security.
