Establish at least 3 sessions education to the target population in Indonesia ( women at reproductive age and/or parents of under-5 children) to increase their awareness on anemia and/ or overweight by 2025 (with pre-post test knowledge)

Research institution / Indonesia

January 2022 — December 2025

Description

Action plans may include the following:

1. Coordinate internally with the Perhimpunan Dokter Gizi Medik Indonesia (Indonesian Medical Nutrition Doctors Association), or PDGMI, province branches to compile specific issues and target vulnerable communities regarding anaemia and overweight. Coordination also refers to discussing the adjustment of existing modules according to local wisdom for a better message delivery approach and awareness retention in targeted communities.

3. Coordinate externally with the collaborating stakeholders – such as local governments, related nongovernmental organisations (NGOs) and the private sector – to determine the current interest in anaemia and overweight management programmes, and to develop a middle- to long-term educational session plan for identified vulnerable communities.

4. Coordinate with the targeted population/community to obtain their insight and perspective on issues of severity and the specific needs related to anaemia and overweight management. PDGMI branches will intensively discuss the educational session plan with targeted communities.

5. Develop and improve the educational module pretest/posttest assessments and the communications strategy for better educational message delivery.

6. Implement educational sessions involving local leaders, community cadres, teachers and religious leaders to increase community engagement and self-sustaining programmes.
