Overarching commitment (for commitments submitted pre-2025)
Title
National day of nutrition and food
Description
Establish a national nutrition day to increase the visibility of nutrition actions and strengthen advocacy through a multisectoral and multi-actor approach.
• Investing in nutrition contributes considerably to the country’s development by reducing household poverty and creating healthier, more productive future generations.
• Organising a national nutrition day raises awareness on the best nutritional habits and the stakes of nutrition for family well-being and community development.
• It is an opportunity to strengthen collaboration among actors and clarify the role each plays (government institutions, UN agencies, civil society, the private sector, communities) so that everyone, especially the most vulnerable, can have access to healthy nutrition.
• It is an opportunity to share best practices in nutrition and to stimulate research.
