By 2030, initiatives for the prevention and treatment of malnutrition in children under five years of age will be intensified across all health authorities within Costa Rica
Description
Through interdisciplinary care, the team of professionals at local offices provides individual, group or home-visit care for children who have been identified as having growth or development problems or who are living in situations of psychosocial risk. An interdisciplinary care procedure for children with malnutrition must be implemented, identifying each case based on its degree of priority. This prioritisation is determined by the child’s nutritional status, developmental level and the family environment in which the child lives and is being raised.
