Commitment

Institutionalise multisectoral financial tracking linking nutrition programme data

Government / Bangladesh

July 2025 — December 2030

Description

By 2030, the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Bangladesh National Nutrition Council, collaborating with Ministries of Food, Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, Women and Children Affairs, Primary and Mass Education, Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock, Social Welfare and Disaster Management and Relief; UN agencies and development partners; and civil societies, commits to institutionalising the multisectoral financial tracking system linked with nutrition programme data. This collaborative effort will optimise resource allocation and expenditure, ensuring transparency, equity and accountability. The system will incorporate innovative technology for real-time tracking and reporting, improving efficiency and responsiveness in nutrition programme implementation.

The total estimated cost for the development by 2027 and operation of this system up to 2030 is projected at BDT 50 million, which will be mobilised from government, development partners and nongovernmental organisations. The Ministry of Finance, with support from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare/Bangladesh National Nutrition Council, will oversee and ensure the system’s successful integration through a coordinated and data-driven approach to advancing nutrition outcomes across sectors.
