Commitment

Reduce the prevalence of stunting in children under 5 years

Government / Tajikistan

January 2020 — December 2025

Description

Goal 1 (stunting): The Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MOHSP) will coordinate line ministries to implement the national communication programme on the first 1000 days of the child's life for 2020–2024. The MOHSP will support the line ministries in integrating relevant activities in their work plan to contribute to nutrition outcomes through awareness raising on the multisectoral nature of nutrition. In close collaboration with development partners, a package of interventions to reduce stunting will be implemented in selected districts and closely monitored to take stock of what works and what does not, including capacity-strengthening of healthcare providers, local authorities, health departments and community organisations to implement social and behaviour change communication interventions.
