Commitment

Tracking and reporting nutrition-related data for optimisation of resource allocation

Government / Tajikistan

January 2025 — December 2027

Description

By 2027, the Tajikistan government will collaborate with development partners to track and report nutrition-related data, especially for the most affected populations and food-insecure areas. The tracking is planned to include the nutrition indicators in the existing DHIS2, such as integrated management of acute malnutrition programme coverage and performance indicators (e.g., cure rate, death rate, drop-out rate, transfer rate, relapse rate), growth monitoring data for exclusive breastfeeding and iron and folic acid supplementation coverage.

The nutrition data will be integrated with existing maternal and child health programmes to ensure comprehensive data capture. Data on breastfeeding practices and iron supplementation during antenatal care can be included. Facilitation and data sharing between nutrition and other health programmes within DHIS2 will provide a holistic view of health and nutrition. Training sessions will be provided for health workers and data managers on how to collect, enter and analyse data using DHIS2.

This will ensure accountability for nutrition expenditures and progress, allowing for the advocacy and optimisation of resource allocation and directing nutrition funding to the most affected groups and regions. The commitment aims to reduce prevalence of stunting from 14% (Demographic and Health Surveys [DHS] 2023) to 7% and to reduce wasting from 6% (DHS 2023) to 4% in 2030.
