Reduce the prevalence of stunting in children under 5 years

Description

Goal 1 (stunting): The Ministry of Health and Social Protection (MOHSPP) will coordinate the implementation of the national communication programme on the first 1,000 days of the child's life 2020-2024 among line ministries. The MOHSPP will support the line ministries in integration of relevant activities in their work plan to contribute to nutrition outcomes through awareness raising on the multisectoral nature of nutrition. In close collaboration with development partners, a package of interventions to reduce stunting will be implemented in selected districts and closely monitored to stock take what works and what doesn't, including capacity strengthening of healthcare providers, local authorities and health departments, community organizations to provide SBCC interventions

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan will commit to reducing the prevalence of stunting in children under five years of age by 40% by 2025 from 17.5% in 2017 to 7.3% in 2025.
