Commitment

Strengthen the policy and regulatory environment for nutrition within UHC

Government / Yemen

December 2021 — November 2030

Description

The government of Yemen commits to strengthen the policy and regulatory environment for nutrition within universal health coverage (UHC). The regulatory and legislative frameworks will support the achievement of UHC through enhancing infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices; responding to undernutrition challenges that lead to nutritional deficiencies, underweight, wasting, stunting and/or micronutrition deficiencies; and responding to overnutrition, which leads to overweight, obesity and/or diet-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This will be achieved by reviewing the current situation and adopting enabling policies and regulations. Progress will be assessed by the government every two years.
