Establish a technical working group, including the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of the Presidency (SETESSAN), private-sector food business organisation and other civil organisation (consumers), in order to reach consensus and collaborate to develop and implement the front-of-package warning labelling regulation.

Description

The Dominican Republic is committed to developing and implementing sustainable healthy diet policies to provide the population and sectors related to nutrition and food systems with a regulatory framework to improve the nutritional status of the population and achieve national and global nutrition targets.

The Dominican Republic commits to:

• Develop, update and implement national food-based dietary guidelines using a life-course and food-systems approach by 2024.

• Develop and implement technical regulations and guidelines to improve access to a healthy diet in schools by 2024.

• Develop and implement a front-of-package warning labelling regulation by 2024.
