Description
In recent years, the prevalence of stunting in Chad has remained stable at around 30.0%. The 2020 National Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound survey shows a prevalence at 30.5%, probably due to a combination of factors, mainly the poor quality of food intake due to bad infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices (with the exclusive breastfeeding rate estimated countrywide at 16.4% and the minimum adequate diet at 13.6%), poor sanitation and low coverage of access to drinking water. So, in response, we are implementing our scale-up IYCF plan.
