Description
Chad has been facing, in recent years, an alarming nutritional situation characterised by a stable high rate of acute malnutrition. According to the 2020 Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound survey, global acute malnutrition was estimated at 10.0%, with 2.1% of severe cases exceeding the emergency threshold of 2.0% according to World Health Organization standards. So, in response, we are reinforcing the quality of the treatment and the early detection of children with severe acute malnutrition, whilst scaling up community-based management of acute malnutrition interventions.
