The goals are to enable legislation on fortifying baladi bread with iron and folate whilst reducing salt, secure regular governmental funding within the national budget and finalise an action plan for flour fortification.

Title

Reduce anaemia among children under 5 years of age to 15% by 2030

Description

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population commits to reducing the prevalence of stunting from 21% to less than 10% among the country’s 12.7 million children under 5 years of age by 31 December 2030. This will be achieved by accelerating scale-up of the implementation of high-impact nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions. Progress will be assessed through the Egyptian Family Health Issues Survey, to be implemented every four years.
