Commitment

Development and implementation of Resource Mobilization Strategy for MSNP III

Government / Nepal

March 2025 — December 2026

Description

By 2025, the National Planning Commission (NPC) commits to developing a Resource Mobilization Strategy to advocate for and secure additional financial and technical resources for the effective implementation of MSNP-III (2023–2030). This strategy will engage government counterparts (sectoral ministries, provincial, and local governments), development partners, and stakeholders to bridge funding gaps and strengthen government investment across all seven provinces and 753 local levels. The NPC, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance (MoF), Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA), and sectoral ministries, will lead this process, identifying sustainable financing mechanisms, including public-private partnerships and external funding opportunities. The NPC, in collaboration with MoF and MoFAGA, will endorse and implement the strategy. Progress will be tracked in 2026 for the endorsement of the strategy, followed by a mid-term review in 2027 and a final evaluation in 2028 to measure its effectiveness in mobilizing financial resources for nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions.
