Commitment

The natural resources within the Okavango Delta and the connected water reservoirs remain protected from oil drilling and/or fracking.

Civil society organisation / Namibia

April 2020 — December 2040

Description

Advocate together with members and partners in person and online on various levels to prevent Recon Africa from continuing the very risky and questionable efforts to drill and/or frack for oil in the highly sensitive Okavango Delta area in Northern Namibia, which is connected to several water basins that lead into central Namibia.

Other very risky mining efforts that threaten water supply and other resources also need to be prevented to protect the lives of people and the environment, whereby NAFSAN (and its members and partners) plays an important advocacy role in this regard.
