Description

Actions that have been outlined for implementation to strengthen the multisectoral nutrition information system include: -• Enhancing the availability of nutrition relevant data from sectoral and decentralized data systems • Strengthening generation of nutrition evidence through appropriate national surveys, National Nutrition Surveys and operational research• Improvement of quality and standards of nutrition indicators in national surveys and operational research• Establishment of a mechanism for capturing and tracking nutrition relevant data from the private sector • Capacity building for optimal multisectoral data utilization within and across sectors• Implementation of the comprehensive monitoring, evaluation and learning framework for NMNAPII

Description

Tracking progress of all interventions to tackle malnutrition requires reliable data and well-functioning Management Information System. The government commits to ensure that 11 (100%) of priority sectoral ministries data systems are linked with Multsectoral Nutrition Information System (MNIS) by 2026 from currently 7 sectors with at least 2 sectors linked by 2023. The estimated budget for this commitment is TZS 2.7 billion (USD 1.2 million).
