Enhancing Climate Resilience, Climate-Smart Agriculture, and Food System
Description
By enhancing climate resilience, climate-smart agriculture and the food system in Cambodia, Cambodia is committed to:
• Addressing climate change and food system transformation by updating its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Climate Agreement, aiming to expand climate-smart agriculture and climate resilience through policy implementation, capacity-building and technology transfer.
• Mobilizing climate finance to support adaptation and mitigation measures; enhancing food security, nutrition and agricultural sustainability; and fostering international cooperation to exchange knowledge and best practices.
• Aligning with national policies and strategies such as the Third National Strategy for Food Security and Nutrition (2024–2028), Cambodia’s Roadmap for Food Systems for Sustainable Development 2030, Cambodia’s Climate Change Strategic Plan, the updated NDC, Cambodia’s Sustainable Development Goals Framework and the 2030 UN agenda for enhancing food security and nutrition by reducing climate-related disruptions in food production and ensuring sustainable food systems.
• Improving food security and nutrition through sustainable agricultural practices/climate-resilient agriculture and increased resilience of food systems to climate shocks and extreme weather.
• Promoting sustainable community livelihood toward protected areas’ communities’ carbon neutrality transition by 2030.
