Overarching commitment (for commitments submitted pre-2025)
Title
Support nutrition campaigns in Uganda
Description
SAF-Teso supports nutrition projects in Teso and Karamoja Sub-regions by implementation of community-based activities, like health and nutrition campaigns targeting pregnant and lactating mothers and malnourished children under 5 years of age, health promotion in schools and communities on good hygiene practices, nutrition and agriculture campaigns, selection and training of community nutrition education campaigners and sensitisation of the general public on health and nutrition.
SAF-Teso will implement activities like school feeding and vegetable growing to boost nutrition and improve learning, as well as public education, outreaches and advocacy campaigns addressing nutrition. Our target is to support 450 malnourished children, as well as children born with multiple disabilities and spina bifida and children living with HIV.
