Commitment

Strengthened Climate Data and Early Warning Systems

Government / Sierra Leone

March 2026 — December 2030

Description

Food security and nutrition are closely linked to climate risk. Crop losses, delayed planting, or failed harvests reduce the availability and affordability of diverse, nutritious foods. Climate shocks also strain household coping capacities, reducing diet quality and increasing the risk of undernutrition. Strengthening climate data and early warning systems can help mitigate these effects, especially when tailored to reach smallholder farmers, women, and vulnerable groups.
