Description
The Timor-Leste government commits to improving the quality, coverage and sustainability of school feeding programmes, incorporating early childhood nutrition. Key interventions include:
• Ensuring 100% of schools and early childhood centres under the national programme provide nutritionally adequate meals with locally sourced ingredients.
• Strengthening supply chain systems and local procurement processes, integrating home-grown school feeding models and meal programmes for early childhood development centres.
• Expanding nutrition education as part of the school meal programme to promote healthy eating behaviours.
