Reduce low birth weight

Description

Reduce the prevalence of low birth weight (<2,500g) to less than 7% by 2025; implement and scale up interventions that focus on the prevention of malnutrition in women and adolescent girls before, during and after pregnancy, including iron and folic acid supplementation, essential micronutrient supplementation and antenatal care (ANC) services; improve the recording of birth weights; ensure social protection schemes target the first 1,000 days and support improved access to quality diets.
