As mentioned in the multisectoral strategic plan, we have:
• Increased the availability, access and use of nutritious, healthy and diverse foods.
• Strengthened access to and use of quality health and nutrition care and services.
• Promoted practices that support optimal nutrition, hygiene and basic sanitation.
• Strengthened social protection, resilience and responses to emergencies and natural disasters.
• Strengthened governance, multisectoral coordination and partnership.
The implementation of the vision and its strategies is underpinned by the guiding principles pf multisectorality, results-based management, transparency and accountability, community participation and ownership, gender equity/equality, respect for the human person and partnership.

Overarching commitment (for commitments submitted pre-2025)
Title
Reduce the rate of stunting
Description
We aim to reduce the rate of stunting from 52.2% to 42.2% by 2027.
The stunting rate is used in Burundi as an indicator of the impact of interventions implemented in different sectors, including health; agriculture; social protection; water, hygiene and sanitation; and education, not to mention gender, governance and financing. As such, it is a good indicator to measure performance in a multisectoral approach.
