Description

As they are mentioned in the Multisectoral strategic plan we have:

1. Increased availability, access and use of nutritious, healthy and diverse foods;

2. Strengthening access to and use of quality health and nutrition care and services;

3. Promotion of practices that support optimal nutrition, hygiene and basic sanitation.

4. Strengthening social protection, resilience and response to emergencies and natural disasters;

5. Strengthening governance, multi-sectoral coordination and partnership.

The implementation of the vision and its strategies is underpinned by guiding principles including multisectorality, results-based management, transparency and accountability, community participation and ownership, gender equity/equality, respect for the human person, and partnership.

The Permanent Execitve secretary of the Multisectoral Platform will have as its main mission to ensure the multisectoral coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the actions of all stakeholders

Reduce the rate of stunting

Description

Reduce the rate of stunting from 52.2% to 42.2% by 2027. Stunting rate is an indicator of the impact of several interventions implemented in different sectors: Health, agriculture, social protection, water, hygiene and sanitation, education without forgetting gender, governance and financing. It still a good indicator that is used in Burundi to mesure the performance in a mutisectoral approach.
