Strengthen SUN CSN advocacy for responsible private-sector engagement in nutrition equity and food systems
Description
By 2028, the Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Network (SUN CSN) Secretariat will support SUN Civil Society Alliances (CSAs) in at least 15 countries to engage in strategic advocacy towards private-sector and government actors to promote nutrition equity and accountability in food systems. This includes actions to improve the availability and responsible marketing of nutritious and safe foods, reduce the promotion of unhealthy ultra-processed products – especially to vulnerable populations – and ensure that food companies act in the public interest and contribute meaningfully to national nutrition goals.
This will be done by:
• Collaborating with expert partners such as Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNI) to build the CSAs’ capacity for private-sector monitoring and engagement.
• Delivering at least five advocacy-focused workshops or trainings.
• Adapting or producing and disseminating advocacy tools on private-sector accountability.
• Supporting CSAs to participate in at least three global or regional dialogues on private-sector engagement in nutrition and food systems.
