The United States commits to working with School Meals Coalition members, building on contributions and lessons learned from the U.S. McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program, to advance the day when every child is well nourished and well educated.

The United States, through USDA, will formally participate in the School Meals Coalition Overarching Taskforce and Financing Taskforce, and informally in the Research Consortium. Details of the Coalition implementation and investment plans, and individual taskforces under the Coalition, are still being worked out by the Secretariat and member countries and stakeholders.

The United States of America is reaffirming its commitment to join the new School Meals Coalition: Nutrition, Health and Education for Every Child, and will start out by participating in the Financing Task Force, offering the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program as a potential model for multi-year financing with the aim of future national sustainability.
