Commitment description
The Government of Nepal commits to strengthening system and individual capacities to deliver quality nutrition services that ensure universal coverage and accelerate nutrition progress towards national, WHA and SDG targets on all forms of malnutrition within the next 9 years (from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2030). This will be achieved by enhancing the system, institution and human resource capacity for scaling up integrated nutrition programs and ensuring the provision of adequate nutrition commodities to deliver quality nutrition services equitably. Progress will be assessed using the national nutrition surveys conducted every 3 to 5 years and regular monitoring of programs. Approximately, NPR 91,829 million has been estimated for next 9 years by the Government of Nepal to cover associated costs for effective delivery of nutrition services and will be partially supported by development partners and civil societies.

Total funding and costs across all goals
Funders | Majority of funds will be mobilized by Government of Nepal (GoN): (Public Funding) to achieve the commitment. Besides, European Union (EU) has committed to provide funds for implementation of Multi-sector Nutrition Plan extending for 7 years from 2023-2030 through which these commitments will be achieved. The USAID has also committed to mobilize funds for GoN to achieve the commitments. Besides EU and USAID, other development partners (World Bank, FCDO) have given verbal commitment to mobilize fund to materialize the commitment of N4G commitments. UN agencies (UNICEF, WFP, WHO, FAO) also have committed to mobilize funds as a part of financial and technical assistance to support GoN to materialize the commitment. Civil Society Organization (CSOs) particularly INGOs like Hellen Keller International (HKI), Save the Children (STC) and ACF amon g others have also commited to fund the nutrition program to achieve the N4G commitments. In addition, private sector in particular, Baliyo Nepal Nutrition Initiative (BNNI) has also demonstrated its commitment to mobilize fund and has ensure to support GoN in achieveing the commitment. |
