Commitment description

We envisioned to reduce wasting in children under age five from 16.2% in 2020 to <=5% by 2030 through.1) Scaling up nutrition treatment service for severe wasting in Health care service delivery platforms 2) Scaling up MNCH, prevention and treatment of the communicable diseases Through the program activities below.• Equipping health and nutrition facilities • Enhance capacity of service providers • Update guidelines and manuals • Enhance the quality of nutrition services in the existing health care services such as Antenatal Care, Postnatal Care, Integrated management of newborn and childhood illness (IMNCI)• Empower community health workers to deliver high impact cost effective health and nutrition care services in the community such as integrated community case management for Child Health including screening for malnutrition; promotion of immunization; prevention and treatment of malaria, diarrhea• Initiate implementation of the revised curriculum with the nutrition guidelines to train students at the University and other institutions in the Country• Implementation of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI)
