Goal

By 2022, WHO will develop the Obesity Action Acceleration Plan for obesity prevention and management and provide evidence-informed normative and operational guidance on health promotion and prevention and management of obesity in children and adolescents, define resource requirements and develop tools to support an integrated approach to service delivery.

Goal action plan

The Guideline Development process has started and will follow the WHO standard procedures to be completed by 2022. The WHO Obesity Action Acceleration Plan is being developed in consultation with WHO Regional and Country teams and will be further developed through expert consultation and country stakeholder consultations. Additional action plans for this goal will be determined by WHO through consultation with partners and countries following the summit.
