Goal action plan
The Micronutrient Forum's approach to alliance and coalition building recognizes the importance of sound, cross disciplinary science, and the need to translate evidence into collective agendas that guide focused policies, investments, and actions in support of micronutrient interventions.
Alliances and coalitions, with diverse stakeholders, will follow clear rules of engagement and a collectively agreed strategy. For example, devise global action plans, based on assessments and the identification of research and policy priorities, along with targeted advocacy plans.
Based on initial consultations with micronutrient expert organizations, the Forum has been identified as having a strategic role in convening micronutrient-focused networks. Alliance or coalitions will focus on three broad agendas:
1. Anemia reduction in girls and women;
2. Improving the availability, quality, usability, and accessibility of micronutrient data to guide national level decision making.
3. Strengthen the enabling policy environment for greater investment in micronutrient interventions.
Action plans may include: Convening networks and stakeholders; landscaping assessments, knowledge synthesis, evidence-generation, development and dissemination of technical policy briefs; development of targeted advocacy tools and communications.
